Strap on your snowshoes and head into the wild! Some of nature’s toughest creatures call winter their favourite season. From fur-covered mammals to frost-resistant trees, discover the incredible ways plants and animals survive the coldest months of the year.

Guided by our enthusiastic nature interpreters, students will explore the forest near Sugarbush Trail and hear fascinating stories about adaptation and resilience, all while having a blast in the snow!

Snowshoes are provided, so get ready for an icy adventure!
Students must wear proper winter boots. Shoes are not permitted.

We will be outdoors, rain or shine (or snow!), so dress warmly and come prepared to spend up to 90 minutes outside.

Group size:

•    25 students per reservation (one nature interpreter per reservation).
•    Need room for more students? You can book two concurrent programs in the same time slot to welcome up to a total of 50 students.

Times:

Programs are offered exclusively during the following time slots:
•    Morning: 9:30 am – 11 am
•    Afternoon: 12:15 am – 1:45 pm

A nature interpreter will meet your group at your scheduled start time. If your group arrives late, the activity will be shortened in accordance with the reserved time slot.

Morning groups must depart the Visitor Centre by 11:30 am.

Check in:

Your adventure begins at the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre (33 Scott Road, Chelsea). When you arrive, please ensure students remain on the bus while an adult checks in at the front desk. A Gatineau Park staff member will welcome and escort your group inside.

Inside, you’ll find a snack/lunch area, a space for personal belongings, and washrooms.

Lunchroom access:

The lunchroom can be booked free of charge for the following times:
•    Morning groups: 11 am – 11:30 am
