Uncover mysteries that lie within the cottages and ruins of the Mackenzie King Estate by participating in a unique escape game (lasting approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes). Along the way, you and your team will solve challenging puzzles and decipher hidden clues while exploring the fascinating heritage of the estate. Each puzzle solved brings you closer to uncovering William Lyon Mackenzie King’s secrets. Mackenzie King had a complex personality but also contributed greatly to the Canadian fabric and to how we use our natural spaces, especially in the area of conservation. You’ll need to use logic, creativity and cooperation to unravel the mysteries and reach the final goal. 


More than just a game, this experience allows you to learn while having fun. This challenge combines reflection, exploration and concentration to keep you completely immersed in the game! 


This activity is free and includes the loan of a backpack. An online reservation is required.


Fall schedule 

  • Weekends and Thanksgiving Monday, from September 6 to October 26 2025

  • Game begins every 15 minutes from 10 am to 10:45 am and from 1:45 pm to 2:30 pm

  • Estimated game time: about 2 hours, depending on players’ abilities

  • Maximum game time: 3 hours 

Location 

  • Game starts at the Moorside Cottage garage at Mackenzie King Estate, 72 Barnes Road, Chelsea, Quebec

  • Suggested parking lot: P6 (parking fees apply from mid-June to October) 

Details 

  • This activity is open to everyone. Recommended for children 9 years of age and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Maximum of six participants per group (single players also allowed).

  • Participants must walk about 1 km on flat terrain and gentle slopes. We recommend wearing footwear suitable for outdoor activities. Wheelchairs are available upon request.

  • The escape backpacks are loaned out temporarily and must be handled with care in compliance with game rules. The backpack measures 42 cm × 33 cm × 15 cm and weighs between 4.5 kg and 7 kg.

  • On-leash dogs are allowed outside but cannot enter the museums.

  • Please handle the backpack items with care. Bags will be checked upon return
